The coal processing and conversion of coal
Coal processing can be divided into three parts such as coal preparation, clean coal processing and moulded coal processing. Now, Zenith will tell you details of them as follows:
1.Coal Preparation Processing
coal processing Coal preparations goal is to remove or reduce impurities in raw coal (including ash, waste rock, sulfur, etc.) and the treated coal is divided into several different varieties of grades to meet the needs of users.
Coal preparation serves several purposes. One important purpose is to increase the heating value of the coal by mechanical removal of impurities. This is often required in order to find a market for the product. Run-of-mine coal from a modern mine may incorporate as much as 60 percent reject materials. Air pollution control often requires partial removal of pyrites with the ash to reduce the sulfur content of the coal. Ash content often must be controlled to conform to a prescribed quality stipulated in contractual agreements. Because of firing characteristics, it is often as important to retain the ash content at a given level as it is to reduce it.
Freight savings are substantial when impurities are removed prior to loading. Finally, the rejected impurities are more easily disposed of at the mine site remote from cities than at the burning site, which is usually in a populated area.
Technology of Coal Preparation Processing
Coal preparation according to different methods can be divided into physical preparation, physical and chemical preparation, chemical and microbial preparation and other coal preparation.
Physical coal preparation is under the physical properties of coal and impurities (such as particle size, density, hardness, magnetic and electrical properties, etc.) on the difference of separation, the main methods of physical separation:
1. Preparation of gravity, including jigs, heavy-medium coal preparation, coal preparation chute, shaking preparation, such as wind preparation.
2. Electromagnetic election, using the electromagnetic properties of coal and impurities separation differences, this method is not in the actual production application of coal.
Chemical coal preparation takes advantage of chemical reaction to make a useful component of coal enrichment, remove impurities and harmful elements process. Currently used in the laboratory method is chemical desulfurization. According to commonly used chemical reaction mechanism of different types and can be divided into alkali treatment, oxidation and solvent extraction.
Microbial coal preparation is making use of some microbial autotrophic and heterotrophic microorganisms, directly or indirectly, to use its metabolites in the leaching of sulfur from coal to achieve the purpose of desulfurization.
2.Clean Coal Processing

Aim is to reduce the pollution of coal burning on the environment, improve coal utilization efficiency, and lower costs.
Clean coal technologies can be divided into three categories. Before burning through coal preparation or admixture of other substances to improve combustion efficiency and pollutant removal; combustion, combustion and the nature of change in the combustion process to remove contaminants; combustion, flue gas decontamination.
3.Moulded Coal Processing
Using low-grade coal or pulverized coal to make a certain shape made of coal products are called moulded coal.
