Sand & gravel is usually extracted from quartz, feldspar, rock fragment, rubble, cobble, sandstone, chert, novaculite, agate, limestone, dolostone, and other resistant rock type.Sand and gravel are considered high-volume, low-unit-price natural materials.
Methods of mining sand and gravel depend upon the size and type of deposit but most often consist of open cuts. Crushing, washing, screening plant is necessary in the sand & gravel production line.
Major uses for construction sand and gravel include concrete aggregate; concrete products, including block, brick, and pipe; aggregate in asphalt and other bituminous mixtures; road-base material and road coverings; construction fill; snow and ice control; filtration purposes; and railroad ballast.

Sand & gravel production line is updated from the traditional sand making plant to make full use of the raw materials. Sand & gravel production line is widely used in sand and gravel deposit quarry.
Sand & gravel production line involves crushing, screening, even washing. The major mining equipment used in sand & gravel production line are: jaw crusher, impact crusher, cone crusher, VSI crusher, vibrating screen, belt conveyor, sand washing machine etc.

The common final grain sizes are: 0-1mm,1-2mm, 2-4mm, 4-8mm, 8-16mm, 16-32mm and so on.

When raw materials are mined from sand & gravel deposit quarry,the bulk of materials will transported to hoppers.
Before primary crushing, a single-deck screen is used to separates out the coarsest gravel, i.e., materials more than 32mm in diameter which can be used in gardens, ore pebble-dash finishing.sand gravel production line
The remaining raw materials will be fed into primary jaw crusher for crushing. After primary crushing, the crushed materials will be transferred to a double-deck screen for separates the gravel from the sand. The larger gravel with a diameter of up to 32mm is separatedout, the second screen separates smaller gravel down to plus 2 mm.All of the gravel flow is then conveyed to a gravel processing plant. The minus 2 mm material, which can be defined as exclusively sand, passes through both screen decks will send to sand processing plant.
Gravel processing plant:
In the circuit of gravel processing plant, secondary crushing, tertiary crushing, fineness crushing equipment will act on the materials.
The raw materials go through secondary jaw crusher will be transferred to tertiary cone crusher for fineness crushing, then the materials onto a triple-deck vibrating screen for sieving.
The final gravel products will be 2-8mm, 8-16mm, 16-32mm etc. According to the clients demands, the size can be adjustable.
Sand processing plant:
In the sand processing plant, sand washing machine is the major equipment. Sand washing machine aims to clean wood or other organic materials from the sand.
Following washing, the sand has to be dewatered. This is accomplished for the coarser sand (1 to 2 mm) by single-deck vibrating screens. These have a slight angle of one or two degrees. This, combined with the vibration, causes the sand to move across the screen while the water, together with the finer sand, (0 to 1 mm) is drained off underneath.
